Kate Middleton Shows Off More of Her Fab Fall Style in Belted Reiss Coat and Knee-High Boots: Look of the Day

Kate Middleton has managed to get us excited for coat weather with her chic approach to cold-weather dressing.
After making a stylish statement in an oxblood suit for her first public appearance since her nude photo scandal broke during the South Pacific Diamond Jubilee Tour, Middleton showed us how to work a winter coat while accompanying Prince William to the opening of a new football stadium at St. George’s Park in Burton upon Trent, England.

Just like she showed us how to make a skirt suit look stylish, not stuffy, during Monday’s outing, the Duchess demonstrated how to make a ladylike coat look modern, not matronly.
The seasonal olive hue and modern crossover neckline tempered the feminine cut of the Duchess’ flared coat.
But what really took Middleton’s look from prim to posh are her accessories: A black croc belt defined her waist and added a luxe edge to her ladylike look. Black suede knee-high boots further freshened up her polished outfit, and kept it from feeling prissy.
For an inexpensive way to update last season’s coat, steal the Duchess’ styling trick and cinch your outerwear with a statement belt in a rich black or brown hue.
Flip through the gallery to take a closer look at how Middleton styled her cold-weather look.
