Wednesday’s Season 2 finale of Duck Dynasty
was A&E's most-watched and highest-rated telecast in the network's
history. This reality show features the lives of the Robertson family -
and their crazy beards - who rose from poverty to wealth through duck
calling (the process of hunting ducks by making duck sounds).
The
show brought in 6.5 million total viewers, with 3.9 million in the
18-49 demographic – the most important demographic to advertisers.
A&E also gained network record ratings in the 25-54 and 18-34
demographics with 3.8 million and 2 million viewers, respectively.
Duck Dynasty
entire second season grew 139 percent in total viewers over last
season, proving that even though the show is wacky, more and more people
are loving it.
“Duck Dynasty represents the best of
A&E’s unique brand of storytelling, showcasing authentic and
engaging characters,” Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager of
A&E Network and BIO Channel, says. “It’s extremely gratifying to
see more and more viewers flocking to the series week after week.”
